Dark Lords Game
The object of the game is to rule the world. This can be accomplished by taking over every city.
There is a game board (or maybe just a list) that shows all the cities.
The entire 'cities' deck is dealt out. Probably not very many cities in total. Maybe 15 - 20.
Each player spreads out their cities in front of them, face down. Each player has a 'player' token, which is placed on one of their cities. This represents which city they are currently in.
At any time, a player may skip two turns to move their player token to a different city.
Each turn consists of the following phases:
- Add one resource to each city you control
- Draw one card from either the Asset pile or the Action pile.
- Play any number of cards from your hand, paying resource costs if necessary.
The Assets deck has both Agents and Inventions. Assets are played from your hand into one of your cities. If there is a resource cost for the Asset, it must be paid from the city it is being deployed into. Additionally, there may be other requirements for deploying, such as city features (beach or mountains), existing inventions (nuclear power), or number of Agents present.
Actions may do a lot of different things, but will primarily deal with moving your player token and assets from one city to another.
When moving, you may move to any city (by name) whether you own it or not. You might not know who owns the city before arriving. When traveling to your own cities, you do not need to reveal the name of your destination. If the destination city is owned by another player, that player will reveal it and combat will commence. The winner will take ownership of the city, and may turn it face-down again if they like. If a player loses the city where their player token currently is, that player must move to a different city (losing turns if necessary). When a player has no more cities, they are out of the game.
