Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Holy Protector.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Holy Protector gains no armor or weapon proficiencies.

Caster Level: Effective divine spell caster level is Holy Keeper level + other divine spell caster levels.

On the Spot Spell Preparation: A Holy Protector may cast any spell they could at the same caster level of the divine spell casting class(s) they had before becoming a Holy Protector. So a level 6 cleric with 3 levels of Holy Protector may cast any spell a level 9 cleric may cast. A level 12 Paladin with 3 levels of Holy Protector may cast any spell a level 18 Paladin may. A level 6 cleric, level 4 Paladin with 3 levels of Holy protector may cast any spell a level 9 cleric or level 10 paladin may.

Where most divine spell caster classes prepare spells for the day, a Holy Protector prepares spells as needed. This takes (((25 - wis bonus) * spell level) - caster level) minutes of prayer and/or meditation, minimum 2. This is in addition to any time otherwise taken to cast the spell. Orisons count as 1/2 level for this calculation. A Holy Protector is fatigued by more than 1+class level hours of such spell preparation in a day.

Spirit Vision: A Holy Protector is attuned to forces of the spirit and may sense the presence, alignment(good vs. evil), and general condition of living (or undead) beings withing 5ft/level of Holy Protector. While this allows a holy protector to sense beings which are otherwise hidden or invisible, they should be considered half concealed for purposes of combat.

Spontaneous Orison: Select a single Orison fitting the characters nature. A number of times per day equal to class level, a Holy Protector may cast that spell without the usual preparation time. Should they have no zero level spells available, such as a Paladin, select a level 1 spell to cast with Orison preparation time.

Divine Providence: Material component required for casting a spell may be reduced 1gp for each additional 10 minutes of meditation.

Divine Grace: reduce XP cost of a spell by 1 for each extra 10 minutes of meditation.
