Effect of D6,D8,D12 for challenge rolls?
Start a new character with attribute matrix, N powers, and N skill points.
Each new level take a new power and skill, increment 1 attribute. Incrementing a whole column or row advances too fast.
Classes in the form of paths, sets of related powers. Some paths complement, others clash and may not both be used in a character. Similar powers may occur in multiple paths. Most D20 classes mapping roughly to a set of complementary paths.
Powers restricted by prerequisite powers and attributes. A character may advance faster along a path at the expense of reduced flexibility.
Many powers characterized by 3 stats, attack, defense, affected.

Your studies and ministrations have gained the favor of a patron deity, granting you powers to work in their cause.

Divine Light
prerequisite: Touch of the Divine talent.

Causes your holy symbol to glow, illuminating a range of 2*awareness ft. well, and that range again of shadowy illumination. This light fades while not being renewed at a rate of 1ft./minute. Beings opposed to you or your patron receive a -1 penalty to success on all actions dependent on sight while within range of this light.

Summoned Messenger
prerequisite: Minor Summoning, Summoners empathy.

Summoned Scout
prerequisite: Minor Summoning, Summoners empathy
A creature you have summoned may be sent out to scout the surrounding area and report back. A specific target and direction may be given.

Summon a lesser creature to serve you. A lesser creature has 6 less points to row and column stats, and half as many talents, powers, and skills as a level 1 character. Select a creature when taking this power. This power, and successors, may be taken multiple times for different creature types.
